The Bernstein Blog

Random and Reflective Musings of a (Purported) Gentleman and a Scholar

Back to Blogging

After a very long hiatus from a variety of different attempts at blogging, I’ve decided to return to the blogosphere and try to capture some of my meandering thoughts on various topics. I intend to write on anything that strikes my fancy or interests that might range from parenting to leadership, current events to pop culture, feeble attempts at humor to more serious contemplations.

So what moved me for this abrupt return to this iteration of the Bernstein Blog? Oddly enough and patently random, Disney World’s changes to their Disability Access Service. My next (really first) blog entry will undoubtedly drive people away from reading or following my blog—it will likely read more similar to a Note for a Law Journal than a fun and fancy free (see what I did there) blog post on leadership or pop culture as I expect some other posts to be.

As a Disneyphile, I follow many sites and Facebook groups on Disney World and there have been many discussions about this week’s rollout of a new version of Disney World’s Disability Access Service. In many of the posts that I have read, people have opined on Disney’s legal obligations or lack thereof. I started responding in some of those conversations and realized that my more lawyerly responses, though satisfying to me, may (necessarily) exceed the length and style of social etiquette called for in such forums. So here I am, creating a forum where my form and substance would be limited only by my own etiquette!

I hope that my musings (both about this very specific Disney issue and whatever other random topics I choose to explore) might be of some esoteric interest and value to my friends and others far and wide. But, if not, at least they will provide a place to park those thoughts and, in doing so, provide some relief to those same friends and others, near and far, who might otherwise be subjected to them!
